Dr. Mamoon Rashid
Dentist
Dr. Mamoon Rashid, RDent’s principal dental surgeon, graduated from University College Cork with a BDS in 2004. After working in Donegal, he moved to Galway in 2007, where he has since provided exceptional care. Dr. Rashid specializes in minimally invasive dentistry, cosmetic procedures, and implantology. He ensures mercury-free, tooth-colored fillings in all cases, reflecting his commitment to preserving natural teeth.
With expertise in veneers, crowns, bridges, and Six Month Smiles®, Dr. Rashid transforms smiles, from single-tooth restorations to full rejuvenations. He completed a master’s in Dental Implantology at Goethe University and is a diplomate of the ICOI, specializing in “teeth in a day” procedures.
Dr. Rashid has trained globally with leading dental clinicians and prioritizes the latest techniques for optimal patient care. Outside of dentistry, he supports his community through sponsorships and charitable works in Galway.
Dr. Christopher de Souza
Dentist
Dr. Christopher de Souza, known as Dr. Chris, is a Galwegian dental surgeon dedicated to patient care. He graduated with honors in Dental Surgery (BDS) from University College Cork in 2016. After gaining experience in private practice, he joined RDent in Galway in 2018, becoming a vital team member known for his friendly and compassionate approach.
Dr. Chris is pursuing a master’s in Endodontics at the University of Chester and specializes in root canals, cosmetic dentistry, clear aligners, implant restorations, and challenging extractions. He stays updated with advancements in dentistry through continuous professional development.
Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Chris prioritizes a patient-centric philosophy, addressing oral health and overall well-being. He is committed to delivering personalized care with clinical excellence. Outside of work, he enjoys family time and an active lifestyle.
Gillian Kenny
Dental Hygienist
Gillian began her dental career as a dental nurse, earning her qualification from Trinity College Dublin in 2010 and further advancing her skills with a NEBDN certification in dental radiography in 2012. Driven by a passion for preventive dentistry and a desire for a more hands-on role, she pursued additional training, graduating as a Dental Hygienist from University College Cork in 2016. In 2024, she earned a Level 9 qualification in Oral Health and Lifestyle Medicine, bringing her expertise in dentistry to over 15 years.
Since joining RDent Dental Clinic in August 2016, Gillian has embraced the clinic’s patient-centered approach, focusing on delivering high-quality care tailored to individual needs. She values being part of a dedicated and compassionate team and plans to continue contributing to RDent for many years.
As a Dental Hygienist, Gillian builds personal relationships with her patients, fostering education and motivation for optimal oral health. She finds great satisfaction in witnessing her patients’ oral health improvements and takes pride in providing preventive care that enhances their overall well-being.
